GLASS LID - 10"
GLASS LID - 10"
10" Borosilicate Domed Glass Lid
Pressed, oven-safe, glass lids were once as common as cast iron. Our grandparents all had them. But like cast iron, this technology has been replaced by cheaper and inferior products. Some glass lids currently available will not withstand high oven temperatures. Borosilicate will.
Borosilicate glass is oven glass—thick, durable, and safe for use at baking temperatures, often sold as PYREX in the past.
The 10” Borosilicate Domed Glass Lid fits your 10" Heather Skillet and the new Homer Pot (coming soon).
VERY LIMITED QUANTITIES
This could be the only run of this kitchen classic. Produced in conjunction with one of the last American factories making oven-safe borosilicate glass.

Hey Jane! The 10" Skillet is actually named Heather. Hope you enjoy your lid!
I love it !
Butter pat has the best cooking equipment. If you’re a serious cook you will immediately recognize the difference.
I mean, first, the build quality of all my Butter Pats are incredible. I’ve been working with cast iron for years and never have I found a series like this. This lid however is another level of perfection, heavy, well made, and simply beautiful. To be honest, it doesn’t even matter how good the food turns out when I cook with them.
First of all, the interchangeability of the Butter Pat 10” borosilicate lid fitting both the Heather skillet and Homer pot is simply brilliant! Dennis (founder of Butter Pat) designed his Heather skillet to fit Homer as an alternate lid which allows you to use it as a Dutch oven by allowing you to place hot coals on top for even bake and broil heat. However if your a user of cast iron, you know that the cast iron lid found on most traditional Dutch ovens require the same re-seasoning process as a skillet because it’s made of the same material (iron) adding to the cleanup time. Butter Pat’s glass lid negates the need for heat drying and oiling! Butter Pat has designed the lid to include their beautiful logo with drip rings for self basting. In addition Dennis also designed and incorporated the use of steam lifters on the lid in order to release the proper amount of steam preventing too much moisture that would make its way back into the food. The trick was to add the lifters without incurring a rattle while cooking but the did it! You loose none of the traditional functionality of a cast iron lid minus the added maintenance! Dennis is an engineer at heart and is building a brand that embodies the American spirit of innovation without changing what cast iron has been and should be with unnecessary gimmicks! Thank you Butter Pat!
