It's just a little bit thin. A slightly thicker leather (or 2 thin layers of leather) would be better. Or (if using 2 layers of leather would be too expensive or too fiddly) put in an insulating material for cushion and heat protection. I do love the tab shape on the end for easy removal. it really helps when arthritis is a factor. I also like the beautiful leather that's used. I am gifting 2 with the 2 pans I got for holiday gifts this year!
