JOE
4.0 Quart Flat-Bottomed Braiser
The Joe is our versatile cast-iron pan that doubles as a large braiser, Dutch oven, deep fryer, rondeau, and roaster. With a 10-inch cooking surface and 4-quart volume, it is the perfect size and shape for one-pan meals, such as casseroles, pastas, beans, and more. High walls help with frying fish, chicken, or dumplings, simmering sauces, and slow-cooking meat or vegetables. Double tabs ensure ease of handling.
Use it in the oven, on the stove or grill, with induction, and carefully, over a campfire—or as a serving vessel. Made in the USA and exceptionally smooth, this pan provides even heat distribution and a consistent cooking experience.

SLOW STEPS
IN STOCK" items generally ship within seven days of your order. A "PRE-ORDER" puts you in a first-order-in/first-order-out queue. Generally, pre-orders ship within six weeks, but depending on the number of orders ahead of yours, and current scrap rates, this cannot be guaranteed.
If you need your cast iron quickly we might not be the best fit. 41 people perform sixty or more operations over 21 days to produce a pan; slow and necessary steps for our uniquely smooth finish. In today's retail environment where an online order can show up at your doorstep in 24 hours, we understand we are out of step, but we also make something that will last several generations. We hope you agree it is worth waiting for.

Awesome
I have numerous cast iron pieces and this is my new favorite skillet

Awesome Pan
Just broke-in my new JOE with a batch of fried chicken. The JOE is a useful size, much lighter than a comparable pan, and I like the added height over a skillet. Looking forward to expanding my collection of Butter Pat pans.

"Transfer to a casserole dish" :joy:
So useful- one of my favorite of the collection

I'm in Love
I gave Joe to my daughter for her birthday. We have both been cast iron girls with a large assortment of new and old family iron. Since cooking with Joe, from searing chicken to evenly browned sausage, she is amazed how great EVERYTHING turns out. It does not leave her stove top. She gave it the ultimate test with scrambled eggs. She sent a photo of how clean Joe was BEFORE she cleaned it. Her attached comment was " Butter Pat post-eggs…I’m in love!!!"

It’s about time
I have been chiding you ever since I bought the “Joan” for a deeper skillet. This is exactly what I wanted. Stir fry rice?, no problem, no slop over. The more that I use it, the more I like it. Love Joan but this is crowding her already.

At Butter Pat, we believe the secret to a lifelong cast-iron pan is taking good care of it. Sign up for our newsletter to learn everything you need to know and get $25 off your next cookware purchase.
